This year LSN are delighted to be appearing at all three party conferences, holding fringe events in partnership with Pearson around the vital and very topical issue of ‘who should pay for skills’ in the era of austerity.
Improving investment in skills is vital for supporting growth and rebalancing the economy, educating our next generation and for social mobility. Each of these interactive and informative events will feature a platform of leading speakers debating how the boundary between the state and employers needs to shift and the future role of employers in contributing to investment in skills. Active input from delegates will be encouraged around these and the wider structural and strategic issues facing the further education and skills sector.
Speakers across the three events include Vince Cable MP, John Hayes MP, Chris Banks CBE and Lord Digby Jones. LSN’s Chief Executive, John Stone, will also be on the panel for each of the sessions.
The sessions will feature interactive voting technology to allow delegates to respond to key questions and speaker input in real time, and inform the outcomes of the discussions.
These events are within the secure zones, so if you are attending one or all of the party conferences, please do come along, challenge our speakers, your sector colleagues, and engage in the debate.
