LSN takes part in the Intercultural Navigators Programme

As part of the British Council Intercultural Navigators programme, LSN is welcoming a young leader from Belarus on a week placement this month.

The aim is for her to gain an understanding of different aspects of our work within the post-16 citizenship support programme. This will include a workshop on development projects with various post - 16 providers on the themes of learner voice, inter faith dialogue and A level citizenship studies. She will also be undertaking visits to Haverstock School in Camden, Croydon College and LEAP confronting conflict.

Research by the British Council found the next generation of leaders in Europe, Russia and North America are truly concerned about intercultural issues and how these are aggravated by global mobility. They consequently launched Intercultural Navigators to help deal with the challenges we face in the multicultural world. It aims to develop groups of young leaders in Europe who can easily ‘navigate’ within and between different cultures – who are aware of their own cultural backgrounds and who are able and open enough to accept, respect and understand other cultures.
