Triple Science Support Programme

The Triple Science Support Programme is designed to make Triple Science GCSEs more widely available to pupils in English maintained schools. The programme started in 2007, when 32% of schools offered Triple Science GCSEs, and by 2010 this increased to 72% and is still rising, making the Triple Science Support Programme one of the more successful CPD programmes of its type in the UK.

It consists of a generic programme available to all schools – supplemented by a more intense offer of support for targeted schools (especially in areas of deprivation). This approach will help prepare schools for the forthcoming changes in policy as well as allocating bespoke resources to those that can benefit most. We have also joined forces with the national network of Science Learning Centres and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust to provide a targeted programme of support.

The programme website is designed to support the Triple Science Support Programme and contains over 900 links to resources, publications and multimedia applications. Many of the resources on the community are Awarding Body specific and relate to specific hard to teach topic areas.
